Further studies on virus hepatitis of ducks in Germany

, : Further studies on virus hepatitis of ducks in Germany. Dtsch. tierarztl. Wschr, 65: 320-323; 346-352

This paper gives further details of the virus hepatitis reported in 1957. Differential diagnosis was discussed and the disease appeared to differ from the duck plague described by Baudet (1923). Petechial haemorrhages occurred in the liver in 70% of cases. Incubation period was 2-5 days, being briefest after oral or intranasal infection. Mortality among ducklings aged 2-10 days was 58%.
