Galactose hyperglycaemia in the normal subject. Preliminary communication

, : Galactose hyperglycaemia in the normal subject. Preliminary communication. Boll. Soc. ital. Biol. sper. 38: 138-139

(a) The curves of glucose and galactose in blood were studied in a large number of subjects given test loads of galactose by vein as described by Schwarz et al. (Abst. 5179, Vol. 27). A number of patients and of normal control subjects failed to show any rise of blood sugar although they had no sign of disturbed carbohydrate metabolism; the normal group showed a normal response to a carbohydrate meal.
