This book is intended for amateur and professional gardeners. About half of it deals with making new lawns and half with the maintenance of estab- lished or neglected ones. The amateur will find some useful tips, but there is very little of direct help to the greenkeeper or groundsman in charge of a sports ground. There are some obvious gaps in the text, which is not always clear.
