, : Maize breeding in the Kulunda steppe.. Kukuruza (Maize), 5, 25-26

This report on maize breeding at Slavgorod mentions a new variety Urozajnaja which yields 11.2 c. more grain per ha. than Slavgorod 270. Also mentioned are Sterling x Urozajnaja, Dnepropetrovsk x Pervenec and other hybrids productive of nutritious forage. All hybrids were obtained by fertilizing an introduced tall variety with the pollen from an early local form.
