Nutritional status survey of the rural population in Sholavaram

, : Nutritional status survey of the rural population in Sholavaram. Journal of the Indian Medical Association 35: 259-266

The persons who took part numbered 538, a 20% sample of the population of a south Indian village. Haemoglobin values below 10 g per 100 ml were found in 34.4, 42.7, 3.6 and 22.2%, respectively, of the boys, girls, men and women. For men and women, respectively, mean values were, for packed cell volume 42.64 and 36.70% and for mean cell haemoglobin concentration 29.27 and 29.07%.
