Pre-emergence weed control experiments in potatoes

, : Pre-emergence weed control experiments in potatoes. Rep.Quebec Soc.Prot.Pl. 1958. 39: 76-78

In pre-em. trials with Katahdin potatoes, dinoseb (amine) 3.6 pounds per acre alone and at 3 pounds per acre + 2 pounds per acre Karmex (monuron) both in 60 gal water gave far better control of Chenopodium album, Polygonum persicaria and annual grasses than MCPA (amine) 5 oz/ac in 10 gal water which only gave 57% control of broad leaved weeds, but total yield from MCPA plots was better than that from the dinoseb plots.
