Problems of metal corrosion in food chemistry.

, : Problems of metal corrosion in food chemistry.. Dtsch. Lebensmitt-Rdsch, 52: 1, 17-24

Extensive investigations revealed that faults of the metal itself accounted for only about 5 per cent of all the cases of corrosion, the remainder being due to the effects of external factors. The role of oxygen in the corrosion of various metals used by the dairy industry is discussed with reference to the formation of a protective surface film, and different kinds of corrosion are described.
