Rapid fattening of chickens

Trials were made with 7 types of chickens which were given the same high quality concentrate mixture low in fibre. To 52 days best weight gains and efficiency of feed conversion and lowest amount and price of feed per kg gain were with Plymouth x Yellow Hungarians. Good. results were obtained also with New Hampshires and Yellow Hungarians. Slaughter losses were lower in males of 600 g than in females.
