Studies on the nutritional physiology of Xanthomonas oryzae (Uyeda et Ishiyama) Dowson. I. Effects of mineral salts and vitamins on multiplication of bacteria

, : Studies on the nutritional physiology of Xanthomonas oryzae (Uyeda et Ishiyama) Dowson. I. Effects of mineral salts and vitamins on multiplication of bacteria. Ann. phytopath. Soc, Japan, 28: 3, 175-181

A suitable basal medium for multiplication of the bacterium consisted of: 1-glutamic acid (2 g.), KH2PO4 (2 g.), and sucrose (20 g.) /1.; this conc, of phosphate (0-2%) was opt. and addition of FeSO4 (0.0l-0.00l %), MgCl2 (0-5-0-01%), or MnSO4(0.1-0.001%) markedly increased the multiplication of bacteria, more so when 2 or 3 were added together.
