Super and/or NH4NO3 were applied annually from 1949 to 1953 to each crop in a 4-course and a 9-course rotation on land which had been pasture until 1947. Super was still showing a residual effect in 1958. N decreased yields of vetch + oats, oats and winter wheat in 1954-1956, but increased yields of herbage, maize and sunflower.
