The resistance of wood to peeling.

, : The resistance of wood to peeling.. Lesn. Z., Arhangel'sk. 4: 6, 120-8

Shows in graphs the effect of various factors, mainly (1) veneer thickness, (2) the degree of compression, and (3) wood temperature, on the cutting force in peeling boiled Birch and Beech bolts. Cutting force increased with increasing (1) and (2), and fell with increasing (3). Formulae are developed to determine peeling force for both species, taking into account bolt length, (1), (2), (3), and knife blunting.
