The respiration of dormant and germinating tubers of Cyperus rotundus L. and the influence of several gas mixtures upon the germination of single tubers and three tubers in a chain

, : The respiration of dormant and germinating tubers of Cyperus rotundus L. and the influence of several gas mixtures upon the germination of single tubers and three tubers in a chain. Abstr. Weed Soc. Amer, 41

The respiration quotient of single tubers decreased from 2.11 when dormant to 1, 5 days after placing in a germinating environment; this decrease appeared to relate to a change from organic acid to carbohydrate metabolism upon germination.
