The response of four winter wheat varieties in a composite and in pure stands

, : The response of four winter wheat varieties in a composite and in pure stands. Abstracts of the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Agronomy, St. Louis, Missouri 1961. 55

Four commercial hard red winter wheats, identifiable at the mature-ear stage, were grown as composites, together with each variety in pure sowings, at four places in Oklahoma for all or part of the period 1952-58 in replicated yield trials. Grain yields of the composite were slightly below the average of the four varieties sown singly. Population shifts of the varieties in the composite were influenced by both locality and year.
