Newborn rats received injections for 3 days between the 3rd and 6th days of life, and were killed on the next day. Half the rats in 2 litters received 10 I. U. chorionic gonadotropin, the other half only the solvent, and in 2 other litters the dose was 50 I. U. daily. In these litters there was no effect on bodyweight or weight of thymus. In further tests the dose was increased to 100 and 150 I.
