The result of chemical control experiment of Ezo-spruce

, : The result of chemical control experiment of Ezo-spruce. Spec. Rep. For. Exp. Sta., Hokkaido. 5, 31-49

Tables show the results of dipping shoots carrying egg masses for 10, 30 and 60 seconds, in spring or autumn, in one of 6-7 concentrations of 7 insecticides. In the spring, (a) nicotine sulfate (1/2000) gave 80% mortality, (b) derris/BHC emulsion (gamma BHC 5%, rotenone 10%) and (c) BHC emulsion (gamma BHC 10%) each gave nearly 100% mortality (killed eggs and unhatched larvae) at concentrations from 1/100-1/800. Only (a) and (b), at high concentrations, were effective in the autumn.
