Bezencuk 98 and Ferrugineum 810-1/1, the former obtained by training for the winter habit of a strong-floured variety with the same name and the latter by similar treatment of a spring hybrid between an Afghan wheat and Thatcher, have larger grain, greater hectolitre weight and higher percentage of vitreous grain than the recommended winter varieties Lutescens 1060/10 and Ul'janovka and equal these in winter hardiness and productiveness.
