Evidence of Q fever infection was found in the sera of 27.4% of cows and 28.5% of goats examined in a district where there had been a hrge epidemic of Q fever. The presence of R. burneti was established by guineapig inoculation in the milk ot 2 out of 27 pools (representing the milk samples of 303 cows) examined.
