The results of laboratory tests on the effect of temperature and soil humidity on various stages in the life-history of C. medicaginis

, : The results of laboratory tests on the effect of temperature and soil humidity on various stages in the life-history of C. medicaginis. Prace nauk. Inst. Ochr. Rosl, Warsaw, 4: pt. 2, 133-151

The following is based on the author's summary. Investigations were made in the laboratory in Poland in 1957-60 to determine the effects of temperature and soil humidity on the overwintering stages and adult emergence of Contarinia medicaginis Kieff., a pest of lucerne. Exposure to increased temperature stimulated the development of the overwintering larvae in their cocoons, shortened the period of diapause and accelerated adult emergence.
