The results of pelleting vegetable seeds

, : The results of pelleting vegetable seeds. Dtsch. Gartenb, 6: 68-70. bibl. 6

Pelleting onion seeds with chlordane gave excellent results against onion fly, the crop being protected against two generations of the pest. Otherwise, the treatment had no advantages. Experiments with carrots were inconclusive, because the controls remained free from carrot fly infestation. With beetroot cracking the seed coat significantly increased yields and thinning out became unnecessary.
