Of the breeds tested in 1954, the Large White was the most numerous, as in previous years, followed by the White Lop-eared, the White Prick-eared, the Pulawy, and L. W. x Lop-eared crosses. The av. number of litters per sow was 1. 52 in 1954 v. 1. 47 in 1953, and the number of piglings born per sow 13. 9 v. 13. 7. The greatest increase in the number of piglings born per sow was in the Pulawy breed (13. 3 in 1954 v. 11. 5 in 1953). Fewer piglings were born per sow in the L.
