The results of soil-fauna investigations in the Reinhardswald.

, : The results of soil-fauna investigations in the Reinhardswald.. Z. angew. Ent, 48: 94-114

The Tullgren metod modified by Schimitschek showed that mites formed the majority of the fauna, followed by Collembola and Diptera. The mites consisted mainly of Oribatids and their percentage was highest (83.613 %) in April in a commercial spruce wood. Trombids reached their greatest density (35.644%) during July in oak-leaf mould. The highest percentage of Acaridiae (23.954%) and Mesostigmata (19.152%) also occurred in July in beech-leaf mould and grass under ferns respectively.
