The results of spacing trials with two chicory varieties

, : The results of spacing trials with two chicory varieties. Roczn. Nauk rol. 83: 349-76. bibl. 14

In 10 field experiments conducted between 1956 and 1958, 9 different spacings (20, 30 or 40 cm. inter-row and 10, 15 or 20 cm. in the rows in all combinations) were tried for the chicory varieties Polanowicka and Poldluga Kujawska. Both varieties gave the lowest yields of roots per ha. at the widest spacing, but the average weight of roots per plant was greatest at this spacing.
