, : The results of the National Egg Laying Trials in 1957-58 in the German Democratic Republic. Arch. Geflugelz. Kleintierk, 8: 161-201

In this trial, which was the fourth of its kind and took place at 4 testing stations from 1st Oct. 1957 to 15th Sep. 1958, a total of 98 pens completed the trials. New Hampshires headed the breed averages: they laid 241. 2 eggs with an egg mass of 13. 6 kg. and had a food conversion rate of 331. 6 g. per 100 g. egg weight. Mortality was 7. 1% in commercial pens and 14. 5% in purebred pens. Results are tabulated according to breeds, and details are given of the leading groups and hens.
