An account is given by G. H. Johnstone of the history of the Rhododendron Society, founded in 1915 and dissolved in 1951. Notes on the requirements and varieties of Ghent azaleas are given by D. Waterer. Rhododendron gardens described include those on the Isle of Gigha off the west coast of Scotland, at West-bourn near Virginia Water, and at Pylewell Park in Hampshire. From Seattle, Wash., comes information on the effects of the severe winter of 1955 on various Rhododendron species.
