The robusta coffee shoot scolytid, X. morstatti

, : The robusta coffee shoot scolytid, X. morstatti. Cafe, Cacao, The, 2: 119-30. bibl. 11

In the first part the morphology and life history of the pest are described. In the second part notes on biology and on control problems are followed by an account of field trials carried out in Cameroun in the dry season. Dieldrin and endrin were superior to lindane and gave good control. For young trees 4-6 l. of commercial dieldrin per ha. per treatment are required. Adult trees are seldom severely attacked, but when treatment is necessary 2-3 times the above rates should be applied.
