Variations in colour and glands in red pepper fruits

, : Variations in colour and glands in red pepper fruits. Novenytermeles. 5: 141-52

The main types of pigment found in fruits of different colours are listed. In crosses of green and brown-fruited peppers, the carotenoid composition of the latter parent was dominant over that of the former. Crosses between varieties with hard green fruits and those with soft yellow fruits showed that hardness and green colour were each conditioned by a single recessive gene.
