A new barking and trimming machine

, : A new barking and trimming machine. Holz-Zbl, 94: 101, 1446

The machine, which accepts logs of any lengths in diameters of 7-70 cm., operates with rotating cutter chains that cleanly remove the bark and (after previous rough trimming) cut off branches flush with the stem. Its large output (20-35 cu. m./hr.) and its semi-mobile, unwieldy form (its main unit, feeding and unloading units and diesel generator are separate and need reassembling after each move) restrict its use to central landings or large-scale operations.
