Age of laboratory rodents at time of first fertile mating

, : Age of laboratory rodents at time of first fertile mating. Rep. Argonne natn. Lab. biol. med. Res. Div, 57-58

The earliest age for a fertile mating was found to be 23 and 39 days for and of the C3Hf/Anl mouse strain, 25 and 41 days for and of the DBA/lAnl mouse strain, and 25 and 49 days for and SD/Anl rats. The av. age at 1st fertile mating was 28.1 and 48.0 days for and C3Hf/Anl mice and 32.9 and 47.9 days for DBA/lAnl mice. For SD/Anl rats, the av.
