Agronomical studies, stabilization of eroded areas

, : Agronomical studies, stabilization of eroded areas. SOIL CONSERVATION AUTHORITY, VICTORIA. Twenty-first annual report for the year ended 30th Melbourne, 31-3

Cereal rye, dressed with fertilizer N, was successful as a primary stabilizer of inland sand dunes. As this cover deteriorated within 4 years, secondary stabilizers were necessary, promising species being Eragrostis curvula, E. lehmanniana, Ehrhata calycina, the sown native shrubs Melaleuca acuminata, Acacia victoriae and A. ligulata, and the planted shrubs Dodonaea attenuata and Hakea leucoptera.
