Amino acids in blood plasma of young and aged adults

, : Amino acids in blood plasma of young and aged adults. Proceedings of the Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine. Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine 121(2): 349-351

The amino acids in plasma of a group of 11 normal elderly persons were compared with those in a group of 16 with brain damage but with no evidence of stroke or gross neurological disorders; ages ranged from 79 to 92 years. The patients were compared also with a normal group aged 22 to 40. No attempt was made to control diet; the blood for analysis was withdrawn after an overnight fast. There were no significant differences between the two elderly groups.
