Another problem appears-degenerative polymyopathy of breeder torn turkeys

, : Another problem appears-degenerative polymyopathy of breeder torn turkeys. Gobbles, 19: 9, 12 & 33

Sudden and widespread degeneration of muscle occurred in male turkeys at the start of the artificial lighting period in November. Affected birds showed signs of neck paralysis, and less commonly, leg paralysis. All but severely affected birds recovered within a few days if removed from the flock and force fed. The cause was unknown, but the condition seemed to be similar to azoturia in horses.
