Chemotherapy of clonorchiasis sinensis. I. Chemotherapy with 1,4-bis-trichloromethylbenzol (Hetol) for animals experimentally infected with Clonorchis sinensis

, : Chemotherapy of clonorchiasis sinensis. I. Chemotherapy with 1,4-bis-trichloromethylbenzol (Hetol) for animals experimentally infected with Clonorchis sinensis. Jap. J. Parasit, 14: 3, 233-242

3 dogs, 8 rabbits and 20 rats (including controls) were used in the experimental treatment of Clonorchis sinensis infection. Experimental infection was followed by treatment with Hetol at doses of between 50 and 400 mg. per kg. body-weight. Histopathological changes were investigated. It was concluded that doses of at least 100 mg. per kg. every other day for 10 days were successful in removing Clonorchis infection.
