Control of jejunal sucrase and maltase activity by dietary sucrose or fructose in man. A model for the study of enzyme regulation in man

, : Control of jejunal sucrase and maltase activity by dietary sucrose or fructose in man. A model for the study of enzyme regulation in man. Journal of Clinical Investigation 47(10): 2253-2262

Seven normal white male volunteers were given isocaloric liquid diets in which specific sugars were included and their effect on jejunal disaccharidase activity was studied. The sugars tested were sucrose, maltose, lactose, and the products of their hydrolysis glucose, fructose and galactose.
