Cytogenetic studies in Rumex acetosella and its hybrids with Rumex hastatulus with special consideration of sex determination

, : Cytogenetic studies in Rumex acetosella and its hybrids with Rumex hastatulus with special consideration of sex determination. Diss. Abstr, 26: 4984

In 65% of the plants of R. acetosella the chromosome number was 2n - 42. The chromosomes were grouped into three classes. Mitotic and meiotic studies suggested that R. acetosella is a segmental allopolyploid. Meiotic chromosome pairing in the R. acetosella x R. hastatulus hybrids was autosyndetic. Univalents, laggards, split spindles, inversion bridges and micronuclei were observed.
