Developing male-sterile lines and hybrids of Sudan grass

, : Developing male-sterile lines and hybrids of Sudan grass. Vestnik Sel'skohhozyaistvennoi Nauki, 7, 70-75

A method of simultaneously developing inbred lines and male-sterile analogues by back crossing is described. In crosses of the Sudan-grass line Odessa 25, as either the or parent, with six sorghum varieties and three Sudan-grass varieties, heterosis for yield of green matter and hay was observed in the F1.
