Dietary intake of potassium by geriatric patients

, : Dietary intake of potassium by geriatric patients. Gerontologia Clinica 13(3): 119-124

The dietary intakes of K by elderly patients, who were not acutely ill, were estimated in summer and winter and compared with those of a group of younger convalescent surgical patients. There was no difference between the summer and winter intakes of the elderly patients. Intake was below the normal average adult value of 65 m-equiv whereas the younger patients had a normal K intake from the same diet.
