, : Duration of experimental infectious bronchitis in chickens. Research in Veterinary Science 9(6): 506-514

Chickens with infectious bronchitis were shown to harbour the virus for up to 49 days after inoculation when housed in strict isolation, but for over 4 months when isolation was less effective. In the latter circumstances, virus was detected in spite of a significant level of circulating antibody in the infected chickens; it was assumed that continual re-infection with extraneous virus had occurred.
