Rats on Larsen's diet were given lucerne, daily subcutaneous injections of oestradiol benzoate to 0.8 micro g in all, or both. In the first trial with 33 rats the lucerne was artificially dried at 60 degrees C; in the second lucerne from another area was sun-dried. With lucerne alone all rats were dioestrous.
