Enzymes of fructose metabolism: enzyme activity in the intestinal mucosa of several laboratory animals

, : Enzymes of fructose metabolism: enzyme activity in the intestinal mucosa of several laboratory animals. Comp. Biochem. Physiol, 27: 319-327

The enzyme level of fructose metabolism was measured in whole small-intestinal mucosa of rats, golden hamsters, guineapigs and rabbits. The enzymes are: ketohexokinase, aldolase, triokinase, aldehyde dehydrogenase, alcohol dehydrogenase, alcohol dehydrogenase (NADP), glycerate kinase and glycerol kinase. Sorbitol dehydrogenases and hexose diphosphatase were also measured. The results prove that the metabolism of fructose of the intestinal mucosa is the same as in liver and kidney.
