Experiences with the economic planning of Italy

, : Experiences with the economic planning of Italy. Z. ausl. Landw, Frankfurt a.M., 7: 1, 75-80

The south of Italy is a low-income area, where an active development policy is pursued. The Office for the Development of the South which has at its disposal nearly 1.75 billion dollars has implemented important reform projects including a land reform. Investment was strongly promoted by these measures, the gross national product increased by 7 per cent. and the rate of unemployment was cut by 50 per cent., however, in per caput income the gap between north and south has kept widening.
