Experimental atherosclerosis in rabbits after feeding cholestanetriol

, : Experimental atherosclerosis in rabbits after feeding cholestanetriol. British Journal of Experimental Pathology 49(3): 265-271

Male rabbits of New Zealand White strain were given cholestane-3 beta , 5 alpha , 6 beta -triol (triol) 0.1% in a basal diet, corresponding to about 30 mg per kg bodyweight per day. The duration of feeding ranged from 27 to 350 days. For about 6 months there was a reduction of sterol in plasma and liver; thereafter there was a rise in sterol values.
