The CP and CF contents of (a) early-cut lucerne hay were 19.5 and 28.9%, respectively, whereas those of (b) late-cut lucerne hay were 15.5 and 32.7%. The estimated ranges of TDN in (a) and (b) were 55.65% and 52.60%, respectively. The daily live. weight gain of heifers was significantly higher on (a) than on (b).
