Further observations in Madagascar on resistance to the chlorinated hydrocarbon group of insecticides in B. microplus

, : Further observations in Madagascar on resistance to the chlorinated hydrocarbon group of insecticides in B. microplus. Revue Elev. Med. vet. Pays trop, 20: 2, 301-306

The following is based largely on the author's summary of this account of further studies on resistance to BHC and related insecticides in engorged females of Boophilus microplus (Can.) in Madagascar, as revealed by the proportions laying eggs and the viability of the eggs and larvae. It was confirmed that two strains of the tick that were resistant to BHC exhibited cross-resistance to other insecticides of the same group (dieldrin, toxaphene, endrin and isobenzan (Telodrin)).
