Gene effects governing inheritance of yield and its components in Linum usitatissimum L

, : Gene effects governing inheritance of yield and its components in Linum usitatissimum L. Plant Science. 2: 12, 46-51

In a ten-parent diallel cross, partial dominance was involved in the inheritance of seed yield, tiller number, primary branches, plant height and flowering date While nearly complete dominance was observed for capsule number and number of seeds per capsule. Gene effects were mainly additive for the inheritance of seed size. Complementary epistatic effects were observed for seed yield, number of seeds per capsule and primary branches.

The mechanism of decline of intestinal lactase during mammalian development remains uncertain. Despite a major loss of catalytic activity, lactase mRNA appears to persist at detectable concentrations in adult rats. We quantified lactase activity,...

The effects of noise and vibration on annoyance in buildings during the passage of a nearby high-speed train have been investigated in a laboratory experiment with recorded train noise and 20 Hz vibration. A conceptually new one-pot strategy for the synthesis of protected substituted piperazines via the addition of Grignard reagents to pyrazine N-oxides is presented. This strategy is high yielding (33-91% over three steps), step-efficient, and fast....
