, : Improving the consistency of butter. Molkereizeitung, Hildesh, 20: 7, 189-96

In an attempt to improve the consistency of 'branded butter' ('Markenbutter'), the Hanover Chamber of Agriculture introduced, on Jan. 1, 1965, a so-called 'refraction barometer', to be published quarterly at first, but eventually weekly. It consists of a scale giving for each sample examined a numerical value for butterfat hardness and refractive index.
