Investigation of the process of development of the microsclerotial form of the causal agent of Verticillium wilt of Cotton- V. dahliae

, : Investigation of the process of development of the microsclerotial form of the causal agent of Verticillium wilt of Cotton- V. dahliae. Mikol. i Fitopatol. 2: 3, 173-179

The composition of the medium in deep cultures influenced the number of generations of V. dahliae; on mineral media 2-3 generations were produced within 9 days, on organic 5-6. No histochemical differences were observed on different media. Microsclerotia consisted of either thin-walled hyaline or thick-walled pigmented cells. Whereas the former contained lipids to the final stage of development, the latter showed 3 stages: lipid saturation, polymer formation, and melanization.
