Mastitis experimentally produced in cows by BLischen-ausschlag (infectious pustular vulvovaginitis) virus

, : Mastitis experimentally produced in cows by BLischen-ausschlag (infectious pustular vulvovaginitis) virus. Berl. Munch, tierarztl. Wschr, 79: 310-312

The experiment was made on two cows in their first lactation, with a third cow as a control. A tissue culture suspension of a strain of the virus capable of causing genital but not respiratory infection was inoculated into two or three quarters of each cow. Severe acute, febrile mastitis ensued with a temporary fall in milk yield.
