The Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture is supplementing the pig-keeping scheme for peasants run by firms in the meat industry by the following scheme: meat firms may buy pregnant sows from co-operative farms at Ft.22 per kg. and sell them at the same price to individual peasant farmers, who may pay for them within 14 months either in cash, piglets, or fat pork.
