Nitrogen metabolism in pernicious anaemia

, : Nitrogen metabolism in pernicious anaemia. British Journal of Haematology 21(5): 497-506

Metabolism of N was studied in patients with pernicious anaemia before, during and after treatment with vitamin B-12. Before treatment there were high values for amino acids and urea in urine but creatinine was normal. Treatment reduced amino acids in plasma to normal but values in urine fell below normal initially and then returned slowly to normal during prolonged treatment.
