Relationship between breeding value of heifers and their subsequent milk production

, : Relationship between breeding value of heifers and their subsequent milk production. Zesz. nauk. wyzsz. Szk. roln. Wroct. 55-64

The breeding value of 177 heifers at the Pawlowice Zootechnical Experiment Station was (i) assessed in 1965 by the method of Robertson (DSA 22). After the heifers had completed >= 2 lactations, the (i) rank numbers of 112 of the heifers were compared with (ii) their range numbers by milk production. Correlation coeff. between (i) and (ii) ranks for the 1st and all lactations respectively were 0.238 and 0.193 for milk yield and 0.285 and 0.201 for milk fat yield.
